Wadleigh Falls Campground in Lee, New Hampshire sits on land rich with history, blending natural beauty, Native American heritage, early colonial industry, and modern recreation.
🪶 Early History: Native and Colonial Use Indigenous peoples lived in and used the Wadleigh Falls area for thousands of years, taking advantage of the Lamprey River for fishing, hunting, and travel.By the mid-1600s, English settlers had arrived. In 1665, a grist mill was built at the falls—the beginning of centuries of industrial use.⚙️ Industrial Era: Mills and Village LifeWadleigh Falls became a vibrant mill village. The campground emphasizes family-friendly outdoor recreation while maintaining the natural and historic charm of the property.

Wadleigh Falls Campground Seasonal Rules
General Rule Review:
- As stated in the general rule: NO child under the age of 18 may be left in the campground without adult supervision.
- WFCG Management reserves the right to revoke the use of ANY golf cart by ANY camper failing to abide by stated safety rules.
- NO additional gas golf carts will be permitted in the campground. All future golf carts must be electric.
- Due to the noise from gas golf carts, they may not be driven during quiet hours (11:00 pm to 8 am).
- All campers and children/guests of campers must not trespass on other sites.
- You may be on another site only if invited.
- Any alcohol not kept on your site should be carried/stored in a cooler. While in the rec hall, bottles of alcohol must be kept in a bag or cooler and not left out on the tables.
- PLEASE clean up after yourselves, wherever you are (rec hall, bathhouse, pool, store/front, etc.).
- The Rec Hall needs to be quiet at Midnight.
- All campers need to be out by midnight.
- Two cars per site only: both cars must be parked on the site, not in the road.
- All children under 14 must be accompanied by an adult 18 or older to the pool.
Deck & Shed Construction:
- BEFORE BUILDING ANY structure (deck, porch, shed) consult WFCG Management. You will need approval before construction can begin. If any structure is built without approval from WFCG Management, you will be asked to remove the structure.
- Decks cannot be more than 12 ft wide and no longer than the length of your trailer.
- Flexible railing is preferred. If a camper removes their trailer, all railing must be removed as well. (The trailer cannot be removed with the railing in place or you will forfeit deposit fees.) No plywood, attached awnings, or wooden decks/porches are allowed.
- Railings may not be affixed to the ground.
- You may build a step or set of stairs using the preferred material. In cases of elevation or safety issues, a free-standing ramp can be attached to the step or deck (must be approved).
- You may build a small platform at your screen room. (No plywood under screen rooms or decks/porches.)
- A shed may not exceed 5’x8’ and may not be higher than 8 ft. Sheds larger than 5’x8’ will be removed by Management at the owner's cost.
- You may NOT pour cement to affix stairs and cement blocks and decorative cement borders.
- Any structure with “permanent” features needs to be easily disassembled for removal and/or transportation.
Construction Times/Days:
- Projects may be permitted (including lawn) on Sundays after Labor Day and before Memorial Day.
- Construction is NOT allowed on Labor Day weekend.
- NO construction is allowed on holiday weekends.
- Any work being performed during in-season weekends MUST be approved by WFCG Management.
Electricity and Power Cords:
- Trailer extension cords must be adequate to handle the trailer’s electrical load, and must be UL approved.
- All outside lights are to be turned off before retiring.
- No changes to the park electrical system are allowed.
- Check with WFCG Management before burying any electrical cords or lines.
- Inadequate power cords can cause damage to the trailer appliances and become a fire hazard.
- Electrical boxes provide for locking capability. If you lock your electrical box, you are required to leave a key with the office for safety purposes.
- All outside lights are to be shut off before retiring.
Miscellaneous:
- Blue tarps are NOT allowed as a permanent cover covering attached to a trailer or tree. Tarps are allowed temporarily covering wood or items.
- Screen rooms are preferred, but must be securely fastened.
- Outside refrigerators or freezers, or outside use of air/cond. units, are NOT allowed.
- Clotheslines may be used to dry towels and bathing suits only. Clotheslines may not be attached to trees.
- Do not dig around the site or alter the site before digging. We have underground wires and water lines.
- Sites must be cleaned and trash removed by the Tuesday after Labor Day.
- All abandoned sites will be approved by Management.
Conduct/Behavior Responsibilities and Consequences:
- First infraction: A written warning will be given.
- Second infraction: Suspension of park privileges, up to and including removal of the seasonal.
- WFCG Management has the right to deny entry to any person that violates this conduct.
- Unacceptable behavior includes:
- Being disrespectful to Management, Staff, or other Campers.
- Verbal/physical confrontations.
- Driving around the campground after midnight.
- Violating rules outlined in the general rules list, or any WFCG Management rule posted in the office.
- Throwing food or garbage into the fire pits or across the campground.
- Tampering with any property (lights, wires, stakes, etc.) not belonging to you.
- Use of illegal substances anywhere on the grounds.
Firewood and Fire Pits:
- Campers are allowed to bring their own firewood into the campground.
- Campground sells some quantity of firewood to the campers, but it is not stocked in large quantities (check office).
- Fire pits must be kept clean and within their fire containers.
- Fire pits must be kept away from electric posts, trailers, and trees.
- Any new fire pit container must be approved by WFCG Management before placement. Bricks must be stacked in a circular fashion and cannot be permanently attached with mortar.
Wadleigh Falls Campground General Rules
Registration for Campers and Visitors:
- All campers and visitors must register in the office at the time of arrival.
- Registration includes payment of park fees, receipt of car pass, and review of park rules and regulations.
- Must be 21+ years to rent a campsite.
- Check-in time for camp site rental is 2:00 pm. Check out time is 1:00 pm. Arrival prior to 2:00 pm and/or departure after 1:00 pm will result in the charge of additional fees (half the daily site fee).
- Day visitors must check out with the office by 10:00 pm or register as an overnight guest (additional fee).
- Overnight guests must check out with the office before 1:00 pm or additional fees will be charged.
- If staying less than 1 week, overnight guests are not permitted.
- Campsite rates are based on a family (including 2 adults and 2 children) under the age of 18. Additional persons must be approved by the office and fees will be added to the charge.
Adult Responsibilities:
- Behavior and safety of their children and their guests.
- Children MUST be under adult supervision at all times.
- Please take normal precaution against loss or damage to personal property. WFCG assumes no responsibility or liability for lost, damaged, or stolen property occurring to anyone while on its grounds or in its facilities. Unattended visibly will be discarded.
- Persons using WFCG and its facilities do so at their own risk, and they assume full responsibility for injury or illness occurring to them or members of their party.
- Alcoholic beverages are permitted for any adult 21 years of age – drunkenness and obnoxious behavior will NOT be tolerated.
General Safety:
- All firearms, pellet guns, fireworks, and firecrackers are PROHIBITED. Violators will be expelled without refund.
- The use of knives, hatchets, or axes by persons under 18 years is PROHIBITED. Violators will be expelled without refund.
- Underage drinking, use of drugs, or excessive use of alcoholic beverages, will result in immediate removal by local authorities.
Pool, River, and Swimming:
- NO LIFEGUARD ON DUTY. Swim at your own risk.
- POOL: All children under 14 years MUST be accompanied by an adult.
- RIVER: All persons under 18 years must be accompanied by an adult.
- Proper swimwear required in pool. No swimming in shorts or cut-off clothing.
- No running, diving, roughhousing, or horseplay in or around the pool or river.
- Glass and food/beverages are not permitted inside pool area.
- NO PETS inside pool area.
- Children who are not toilet trained must wear a swim diaper.
- Pool is open Memorial Day to Labor Day 10-7 (weather permitting).
- NO swimming in the river during or after heavy rain and/or flooding.
- Pool use is for campers and registered guests ONLY.
- Emergency phone is located between sites F10-F11.
- Adults assume responsibility for their children’s safety.
Pets:
- MUST BE LEASHED AT ALL TIMES, quiet, and picked up after.
- Pets are NOT allowed in the store, office, restrooms, showers, laundry room, pool area, or rec halls.
- Pets must not be left unattended at the campsite or left unhandled.
- Pets must be walked in designated pet walk areas and must be leashed at all times. Owners must pick up after their pets. Barking dogs will not be tolerated.
- Pets must not be tied to trees.
- NO PETS allowed in any buildings.
- Pets are NOT allowed in the store/office, rest rooms, showers, laundry room, pool area, or rec halls.
Curfew, Quiet Time, Conduct:
- Curfew: All children 13 years and younger MUST be back on their site by 10:00 pm with adult supervision. Teens under 18 years MUST be on their own site by midnight. Violators will be escorted to their site and repeated infractions will result in dismissal from the park.
- Quiet time is 11:00 pm – 8:00 am. No music or excessive noise during this time. All children must be at their own campsite. All fires must be extinguished by midnight.
- No walking, biking, or golf cart riding during quiet hours.
- Loud, abusive, or vulgar language or behavior is NOT ALLOWED.
- Disruptive behavior or repeated violations of campground rules will result in a request to leave the park.
Garbage/Trash:
- Campers: use plastic bags and deposit all garbage in dumpsters located to the right of the entrance.
- Do NOT throw trash on streets, roads, or any park area.
Campfires:
- Fires must be in an established fire ring.
- Campfires MUST be supervised by an adult at all times.
- Do NOT leave fire pits burning or with lit fire pits. DO NOT move pits.
- Do NOT use fire to burn trash.
- All fires must be out by midnight.
Electricity:
- All electric hookups are to be shut off before retiring.
- AC units should be turned off before retiring.
- No exterior lights left on overnight.
Campsite Rules:
- Be courteous to others and respect other camper’s privacy.
- Keep your campsite clean and free of trash and debris. Do NOT walk through another camper’s site.
- Profanity will NOT be tolerated. Campers will be asked to stop or leave.
- One family per site. Extra persons permitted per site must be approved in advance by the office.
- Personal property (grills, coolers, chairs, etc.) are permitted and must be placed neatly on the site.
- No outdoor rugs or mats larger than 24”x36” are allowed. This LAW is strictly enforced.
Vehicles, Bikes, Scooters, Golf Carts, etc.:
- MAXIMUM SPEED FOR ALL IS 5 MPH. If you are driving faster than you can walk, you are speeding.
- Campers may have only 1 vehicle per site. All guests must leave the camp by 10:00 pm unless registered as overnight guests.
- Parking is allowed only on gravel or designated parking areas around the campground. Do not park on the grass.
- Bikes, scooters, skateboards, rollerblades, etc. may be used between 9:00 am and dusk only.
- Golf carts: must be registered at the office. Operators must be 16+ with a valid driver’s license. Lights required after dark.
- DO NOT drive any motorized vehicles after dark without headlights.
- Use of ATVs and motorized scooters is prohibited.
- Golf carts are permitted ONLY on roads and may NOT be used on trails or through other sites.
- Vehicles must obey all traffic rules.
- No washing of cars or RVs on site.
- All campers and visitors are subject to the view of vehicles by any operator for any safety violation(s).
